One can tell where there were once a couple of additional windows. Although it is mostly invisible within the photo, one can also notice that there were snow flurries the day this was taken when looking at the windows that remain.
Superb b/w. Vwry well composed! Bravo!

@Vikram: Thanks!
For a moment I thought you really had some major noise in those windows ... and shooting at ISO 100!?! Then I read your description. The staircase adds a nice visual element to all the strong vertical and horizontal lines. The longer I look at it, the funnier it becomes with those strange missing windows!

@Ron: It is kind of odd. Seems like it would have been easier to put new windows in if there was an issue with them rather than brick it all up.
Love it ;0) Wonder what happened to the missing ones? Why would anyone want to get rid of a window??

@Tracey: Thanks. I figured that the missing ones might show up on your Windows site at some point. :-)
Maybe trying to darken a conference room for doing presentations. Maybe needing a good wall at an end of the room for projecting presentations. Or maybe just wanting us all to wonder why.
this is a very interesting shot bonj. makes my mind wonder and think what the story behind the missing windows is. :) loved the effect of the flurries as well.

@niña kristine: Thanks. I need to go back and figure out what building this actually is sometime. This was taken from half a block away and this is the side of the building towards the back near the alley.
They didn't have the original bricks in stock anymore, and you got this wonderful composition thanks to it :)

@Illuci: Thanks. That is a possibility.
